 Ø J&K Constituent Assembly was constituted on Sept. 1951.

Ø The constitution of J&K was adopted on 17th Nov, 1956.
Ø The constitution of J&K comes into force on 26th Nov. 1956.
Ø Sh. Girdhari Lal Dogra was the Chairman of Drafting Committee of J&K Constituent  Assembly.
Ø J&K acceded with India on 26th Oct. 1947.
Ø RTIS Act was first enacted in J&K on 7th Jan, 2004.
Ø RTI act- 2009 came into force on 20th March, 2009.
Ø The Nilmata Purana records the names of the 527 number of Nagas worshipped in Kashmir.
Ø Burzohom is the only site in the Northern India, where tombs are covered with heavy stones.
Ø Rajatarangini was translated in English in 1900 A.D.

Ø On 1-April 1956 J&K first Five Year Plan of Rs 1151.71 lakhs lanched.
Ø On 14th July 1956 Geological Survey of India opened Office in Srinagar.
Ø On 2n Sept. 1957 State Public Service Commission replaced Recruitment Borad.
Ø On 24th Oct. 1958 J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was established.
Ø On 5th Nov. 1960 New Civil Secretariat building at Jammu was inaugurated.
